Why I love Fuengirola

There are three main reasons why I love living here…

1. Small town vibe, cosmopolitan heart

Fuengirola has a large local population of 55K people, plus it’s home to 30K foreign residents from more than 130 countries. On top of all that, the populace doubles during the summer tourist season. But despite this vast number of diverse people, Fuengirola retains a small-town feel. If you live here long enough, you’ll find it impossible to walk through town without bumping into someone you know. You can’t slip under the radar In Fuengirola—and that’s part of the charm.

2. Stunning natural beauty

Secondly, the natural beauty here is breathtaking. The combination of mountains and salty air, golden sunlight, levante winds from the Mediterranean and poniente from the west makes you feel alive. Fuengirola is a place where every sunrise and sunset invites you to stop and enjoy the moment.

3. Perfect for families

Finally, Fuengirola is a great place to bring up a family. The town offers decent schools, good weather, well-maintained parks, 8 km of beach, tons of recreation and a community-minded spirit. Everywhere is family-friendly—I still haven’t found a restaurant that will refuse you entry because you have children with you. What’s more, the cultural diversity here enriches children’s lives, giving them a global perspective right from the playground. In short, Fuengirola provides a friendly setting where families can thrive.
